Horn Creek Baptist Church
Horn Creek is one of the oldest Baptist churches in the "Backcountry" of South Carolina. Built in 1790, it is a rare example of the one-room meeting style church that reflects the simplicity and frugality of early settlers.
Also on the property was a 1781 Revolutionary War skirmish where a Tory party was defeated and captured.
The church is located down a road that is hard to navigate, and is patrolled regularly for potential vandalism. Tourist traffic is not advised or encouraged.
