The state-of-the-art vault at the Edgefield County Archives contains some of the oldest and best-preserved records in South Carolina. Furthermore, it has the most complete collection of county records next to Charleston. A vast range of court documents are available for research, dating from when the county was formally established in 1785.  The Archives is open Monday-Friday, 9:00 a. m. - 12:00 p. m. and by appointment.
