Edgefield County Historical Society Presents "An American Salute to Country Legends" (George Strait, Alabama, Garth Brooks, George Jones, Alan Jackson, Conway Twitty and Many More). The event will be held on Saturday, April 22, at 7:00 p. m., at the Discovery Center, 405 Main Street, Edgefield, SC.  Tickets are $12.00.  For more information, please call 803-637-2233.

The Edgefield County Spring Turkey Trot Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 29th, starting at 11:00 a. m.  It begins at Bi-Lo (155 Carolina Square) and ends at the Edgefield Town Square.  Race Day Registration starts at 9:00 a. m.  The Run/Walk Route is Hwy 23 West and the distance is 2.4 miles.  Winners announced at 1:00 p. m.  Top Male and Female for Each category wins $50.00.  Categories are:  Elementary School Student; Middle School Student; High School Student; Non-High School-29 years of age; 30-39 years of age; 40-49 years of age; 50-59 years of age; 60-69 years of age; and 70+ years of age.  Early Registration Fee is $15.00 (through April 24th) and Late Registration is $20.00.  No animals or bicycles. The Edgefield County Spring Turkey Trot Run/Walk Raffled, sponsored by the National Wild Turkey Federation, will be held following the Turkey Trot at 12:30 p. m. on the Town Square.  Win one of the following exciting items donated by the NWTF:  a NWTF Custom Pellet Grill and a Merlin Promatic Thrower.  The Raffle tickets cost: 1 ticket for $5.00 and 3 tickets for $10.00.  Raffle tickets may be purchased from the Turkey Shoppe, Town Hall (803-637-4014), the Chamber of Commerce (803-275-0010) or ECDA (803-480-0126). You do not have to be present to win!

A "Clays for Community Fundraiser" will be held on Sunday, April 30, from 1:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m., at the Palmetto Shooting Complex, National Wild Turkey Federation.  The Schedule of Events is as follows:  from 1:00 p m. to 2:00 p. m., Registration and Silent Auction; 2:00 p. m. to 4:00 p. m., Shooting; 5:00 p. m. to 6:00 p. m., Picnic Fare and end of Silent Auction.  Pricing:  $75.00 - 1 Shooter, 100 Clays and Cart; $400.00 - 4 Person Shooting Team, 400 Clays and Cart; $85.00 - 1 Shooter Gate Price, 100 Clays and Cart; $25.00/$30.00 - Non-Shooter/Junior Shooter (under 13).  Proceeds of this fundraiser go to Edgefield Community Development Association, Edgefield Preservation Association, and the Edgefield Civic League.  For Ticket Sales and Sponsor Opportunities, please call 803-645-4176 or e-mail Summers Pendarvis at summers.pendarvis@gmail.com.

The Peach Tree 23 Yard Sale, located on “The Ridge” in rural South Carolina, is a one-of-a-kind “stop and go experience” that you don't want to miss!! You’ll meet some great folks as you wind your way along a beautiful stretch of rural South Carolina dotted with charming small towns, beautiful old Southern homes, and historic places.  It expands 44 miles along SC Highway 23 - Batesburg-Leesville to Modoc and runs through seven towns. The Town of Edgefield presents the 2nd Annual Beach Blast on Friday, August 18th, from 7:00 p. m. to 11:00 p. m., at the Edgefield Soccer Complex (696 Mims Street, Edgefield).  Live music will be provided by Jim Quick and Coastline!  Coolers are welcome, but please do not bring any glass.  Concessions will be available.  There will be corn hole, volleyball, and dancing.  For more information, please call 803-637-4014 or 803-480-0126.

Fifteen workshop classes will be held over the course of the two days, with local and out-of-town speakers giving lectures on a variety of topics.
