The Town of Edgefield presents the 2nd Annual Beach Blast on Friday, August 18th, from 7:00 p. m. to 11:00 p. m., at the Edgefield Soccer Complex (696 Mims Street, Edgefield).  Live music will be provided by Jim Quick and Coastline!  Coolers are welcome, but please do not bring any glass.  Concessions will be available.  There will be corn hole, volleyball, and dancing.  For more information, please call 803-637-4014 or 803-480-0126.

Edgefield is the place to be for the Total Solar Eclipse.  The event will be held on the Edgefield Courthouse Square from 12:00 p. m. to 3:00 p. m. There will be locally made pottery tumblers for sale.  Attendees can purchase one and fill it with his/her favorite alcoholic beverage from Carolina Moon Distillery or a non-alcoholic beverage and take a "shot at the eclipse."  There will also be lots of giveaways for children, including candy, buttons, stickers, bookmarks and more. There will be music and a Moon Walk contest.  Experts will be on hand to explain what is occurring during the eclipse and the special glasses needed to wear to watch the eclipse will be for sale.  Come and join the fun in Edgefield. It will be both educational and entertaining!

The Old Edgefield District Genealogical Society and Edgefield Civic League are hosting the sixth annual “Southern Studies Showcase” in Edgefield on September 15 and 16, 2017. Fifteen workshop classes will be held over the course of the two days, with local and out-of-town speakers giving lectures on a variety of topics.
